قصة الفيلم
يعيش (جاك دندي) ، وهو موظف مصرفي خجول، في مدينة (تافت) بكاليفورنيا. لا يفارقه هاجس مباراة كرة القدم الأمريكية التي جرت عام 1972 بين (تافت) و(باكيرسفيلد) القوية. فقد أسقط (دندي) تمريرة مثالية من زميله و صديقه، (رينو هايتاور) ، الظهير المتألق، مما أدى إلى انتهاء المباراة بالتعادل. يراوده حلم إعادة خوض المباراة، لكنه يواجه صعوبة في إقناع (رينو) وسكان المدينة بذلك. لذا، يلجأ (جاك) إلى وسائل يائسة لتحويل حلمه إلى واقع.
